Sylvia L Natividad-Diaz, PHD
Dr. Sylvia Natividad-Diaz is an Assistant Professor in the Biomedical Engineering program within the Metallurgical, Materials, and Biomedical Engineering Department at UTEP. Dr. Natividad-Diaz received her Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley with a specialization in stem cell tissue engineering and regeneration. Dr. Natividad-Diaz’s expertise is in the areas of stem cell tissue engineering and development of biomimetic 3D in vitro human tissue models. At UTEP her lab focuses on developing 3D microphysiological systems (MPS) with human induced pluripotent stem cell derived cardiovascular/neural tissue models, primary cancer tissue, biomaterials, and microfluidic platforms for patient-specific drug discovery, toxicity screening, and fundamental research applications.
